Life moves fast. Fast enough that if I don’t pause now and then, I risk missing the small, beautiful moments and lessons along the way. This blog is my way of slowing down to reflect on my time in the UK, Singapore, and Myanmar: the places I’ve lived, the things I’ve learned, and the experiences I’m truly grateful for. Here, I live by what Mary Oliver once wrote: “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”
I’m May Zune, a building scientist with a strong interest in health-environmental data science for a net-zero built environment.
I completed my PhD in Building Technology at the University of Nottingham and have since worked as a researcher at the University of Sheffield, Brunel University London, and the University of Nottingham. With over five years of postdoctoral experience, my research focuses on decarbonisation, housing inequality, fuel poverty, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and indoor environmental quality, spanning both UK/EU and Southeast Asian contexts.
